Ivy Blackmoor

Ivy is a 20-year-old soprano studying at the RNCM under the tutelage of Deborah Rees. Her enthusiasm and dedication to classical performance were shaped by her time at Chethams School of Music, during which she sang on tour in WNO’s Play Opera Live! and performed in venues such as Bridgewater Hall, Stoller Hall and Ely Cathedral. Ivy’s enthusiasm for vocal ensembles continues alongside her studies, as she currently performs with RNCM Chamber Choir and Manchester Troubadours, and is an alumnus of the Hallé Scholars.

Eve Codman

Eve is a soprano studying at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Yvonne Howard. Eve regularly sings in several choirs such as the RNCM chamber choir, Holy Name Consort, National Youth Choir and National Youth Chamber Choir – having most recently sung Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at the Proms.

Prior to attending the RNCM, Eve studied at Chetham’s School of Music which was where she discovered a love of opera after playing the role of Belinda in scenes of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. More recently, Eve took part in the RNCM’s production of Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden as a member of the chorus. Eve has also been enjoying exploring world folk music with new female vocal sextet Ventis.

Heledd Richardson

Heledd is a Welsh mezzo-soprano currently studying at the RNCM under the tutelage of Hilary Summers. As a former chorister at St David’s Cathedral, she developed her love of classical music through the sacred choral tradition, performing regularly as both a soloist and ensemble singer, including appearances on BBC Radio 3 broadcasts, television productions, CD recordings, and at royal visits. Recent highlights include performing at Wigmore Hall with the RNCM Chamber Choir in collaboration with Roxanna Panufnik, projects with the Edvard Grieg Vokalensemble, recording Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius with Huddersfield Choral Society, and appearing in Prokofiev’s L’amour des trois oranges and Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen.

Kyle Davis

Kyle is a Manchester-based tenor, currently pursuing a Masters at the University of Manchester. In addition to singing with our choral scholars, he sings with the chamber choirs Somnium and Polaris, and spent three years with the University’s Chamber Choirs. He has sung since the age of eight and previously served as a Choral and Organ Scholar for the Diocese of Leeds, studying with Andrew Padmore. He has been a member of the National Youth Choir for twelve years, where he is currently Tenor 1 Section Leader and a member of its chamber ensemble, National Youth Voices. Kyle has toured in South Africa and across Europe and has performed alongside artists such as the Swingles, London Voices, Cape Town Camerata and the BBC Singers, with whom he recently sang Reich’s Desert Music at the BBC Proms and premiered MacMillan’s Ordo Virtutum. He is also working towards a Licentiate with his teacher, Mark Wildman.

Alex Peart

Hailing from Darlington, Alex is a Bass-Baritone who has recently finished his undergraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). He has been under the tutelage of the late Michael Harper and Andrew Heggie. Recently, Alex has travelled to Norway to perform with the Edvard Grieg Kor in their production of Berlioz’s Romeo and Juliette, and has also travelled to Siena to perform Monteverdi’s Vespers. He is currently part of the chorus for a set of performances by the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, including Pirates of Penzance and HMS Pinafore. With the RNCM, Alex has been in the chorus of Prokofiev’s L’amour des trois oranges. Alex is also passionate about conducting, and has undertaken the Conducting Pathway as part of his undergraduate degree with a focus into choral conducting.
