Training is run each year in the different Archdeaconries for those who are put forward for Authorised Lay Ministry by their parishes. The training is made up of a core module for everyone followed by particular modules depending on the focus of ministry, whether leading worship, pastoral care, children’s ministry or developing prayer and spirituality in the congregation.
The diocese also runs Mission-Shaped Intro which is a course for those who are involved with setting up or developing a new congregation.
Each year we run Foundations for Ministry, a course for people exploring what it is that God might be calling them to. There is no requirement at the end of the course, but – be warned – most of those who have done the course have found themselves going on to do more!
For further details on any of these get in touch with Helen Fallone on 0161 828 1411 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Parishes also organise training for particular areas of work – sometimes in conjunction with others in the deanery.
