Associate Minister (Incumbent Status): St Peter, Halliwell
St Peter’s is a flourishing parish in Bolton of around five hundred people across four church families and sites with a passion to see everyone fulfil their God-given potential as disciples of Jesus Christ. We are looking for someone with a heart for God and a love of people who is Spirit-led, immersed in prayer and rooted in the Bible.
We are seeking an Associate Minister to work with the Vicar to help nurture, shape and lead the growth we believe God wants to give. In particular, we are looking for someone to grow:
- Servant leaders within a parish family where everyone is called to serve.
- Our network of small groups so that people of all ages can learn and grow in faith together as disciples of Jesus.
- Our prayer ministry so that it underpins all that we do and are.
- Our pastoral ministries so that people are supported, cared for and loved.
- Our mission and vision to transform our town in Jesus’ name, working with a wide range of partners to build God’s Kingdom in Bolton.
We are seeking someone who will be:
- A motivated, prayerful, faith-led self-starter who will be a team leader and player – collaborative, pastoral, encouraging, and eager to get things done!
- Relational and organised – able to support leaders and ministry teams across the churches, to lead and manage pastoral, operational and administrative teams and to be the first port of call for pastoral offices – and ideally experienced in these areas in a larger church context.
- A thoughtful, engaging and insightful preacher and teacher of the Bible to groups of different sizes, ages and stages of faith.
- Passionate about growing Christian disciples, engaging and serving the wider local community, and encouraging all to explore their vocations.
- Energised by seeing new things grow – and bringing experience of leading missional activities which have seen measurable growth
- Deeply committed to the spiritual and general well-being of all, including their own personal life of faith.
The successful candidate will receive a warm welcome and ongoing support from the Vicar and a large group of lay leaders across our four congregations, committed to collaborative ministry and excited about all that God has in store for the parish.
