The Bishop of Manchester is the diocesan or most senior bishop, responsible for oversight of the whole diocese. The diocese is also served by the Bishop of Bolton and the Bishop of Middleton, who oversee parishes in different archdeaconries and are responsible for particular areas of work that contribute to the diocesan vision.
Bishop Mark Ashcroft has a particular passion and concern for the growth of the Church, especially in the most deprived parts of the diocese, and for increasing the youthfulness and diversity of the Church.
Dr David Walker, Bishop of Manchester, is privileged to be bishop of the diocese in which he was born and brought up, and to be able to offer something back to the community that gave him his faith and core values.
