Clergy holding the bishop's licence and licensed lay workers have a regular Ministerial Development Review (MDR) every 18 months or so.
Reviews provide participants with the opportunity to review what they have been doing, to look at their present activity, and to discern priorities for the future. MDRs aim to be supportive conversations, with a cycle of different reviewers including bishops, archdeacons, area deans, parish clergy and lay people. Agreed summaries of the review are submitted to the Bishop of Manchester as an important part of his pastoral oversight.
The review includes consideration of what Continuing Ministerial Development (CMD) might be needed or beneficial. The CMD Officer is available for advice, and CMD grants may be used.
The review process is managed by the Bishop’s Chaplain, the Revd Canon Anne Edwards, who may be contacted at bishopschaplain@manchester.anglican.org
