You are invited to join us for our very first Focal Leadership Focus Day! It will be taking place on Saturday 7th October 2023 at St John's House, 155-163 The Rock, Bury, BL9 0ND.
Throughout the day we will be exploring the vision for focal leadership and what this might mean for our Mission Communities, local churches, and areas. We will bring our hopes for focal leadership in our churches, and share and explore these together.
Who is it for?
New focal leaders, those interested in exploring focal leadership, mission community leaders and incumbents, and any others interested in finding out more!
Programme
Get ready for an engaging morning with sessions on 'The Vision for Focal Leadership' and 'Focal Leadership: Keeping it Missional'.
After lunch there will be time to further explore aspects of focal leadership in smaller workshops:
- Working together: Teamwork makes the dream work
- Growing together: Focal Leadership as part of the mission community
- Keeping it together: Judging your load limit - well-being and balance
Across the day, there will be opportunities to access resources, share experiences, ask questions, and of course, meet others for networking and conversation.
There will also be the chance for prayer and reflection in our Chapel at St John's House.
Travel
The focal leadership introduction day will be held at St John’s House, Bury.
There are car parks at The Rock and Paradise Mill, both priced at around £5.20 for the day. There are also some limited disabled spaces at St John's House.
Catering
Please bring a packed lunch.
Refreshments of hot drinks and cake will be provided throughout the day.
Please let us know of any dietary requirements.
Special Instructions
Focal Leaders are invited to bring someone from their Parish – this might be your Incumbent, Minister or another person key to your focal leadership journey. All accompanying guests must have an Eventbrite ticket.
