Diocese of Manchester

FFM is a course open to anyone active in church life who wants to explore and develop their gifts, vocation and sense of calling to Christian ministry both in the Church and the world around them.

The course has 24 sessions and runs on Wednesday evenings at Church House over three terms, September-June.

What does the course offer?

The course offers a safe space and solid foundation for exploring and unpacking the following areas:

  • Making connections between church life, what we believe and how we can apply our faith to our lives
  • Understanding what Christian ministry is and how we can discover, develop and sustain our own calling, gifts and vocation
  • Exploring different concepts of mission and the ways we can share our faith as individuals and wider church groups.

There are no essays or assessed work on the course but participants are encouraged to engage with reflective practice and link work between sessions. Participants are also expected to have a base foundation of Christian knowledge and understanding prior to joining the course.

How to apply

The next FFM course will begin in September 2018. The course costs £60, though free and supported places are available to any parishes that haven’t sent anyone on the course. We also ask that anyone applying discuss this first with their incumbent to gain approval and support.
