The PCCs and Patrons are looking for a prayerful priest, biblically rooted and able to lead worship in a wide range of styles across a diverse team. They will want to be part of churches at the centre of village life and be happy to be a visible part of the community.
They will:
- be a person of prayer with a desire to lead a church which is growing in numbers, faith, and community engagement
- be committed to a strong Safeguarding culture
- be enthusiastic about work with children, young people and families, both in schools and in church
- be able to build up our discipleship and have proven skills in encouraging and developing every member ministry
- be able to build, lead and manage effective teams of lay and ordained ministers
- have experience in developing links with the wider local community
- be committed to pastoral care and enabling the pastoral skills of others
- be secure in an Inclusive Church setting
We offer a warm Christian welcome to an area where the churches are a part of the tradition of the community, but we know there are opportunities for further growth and service. Saddleworth is a team, but it is important to remember that each village and each church has a unique identity. We have a background of working together as parishes and look forward to working together with our new Team Rector. It would probably help if you liked brass bands!
