A service to authorise and give thanks for lay ministers in our parishes.
In July we have been honoured to welcome friends to Manchester Diocese from our link Diocese of Lahore in Pakistan.
On Sunday 9th July, Bishop Matthew Porter led a special service to celebrate Reader Ministry in the diocese.
On Wednesday 5th July, Mission Community Leaders met with our three bishops, area deans and colleagues from St John's House.
Following a busy weekend of ordinations, the diocese has been blessed with 21 new priests.
On Sunday 25th June, Bishop Matthew was welcomed to the diocese during a special Evensong service at Manchester Cathedral.
Earlier today, the Rt Revd Dr Matthew Porter was consecrated as the Bishop of Bolton at York Minster alongside the Rt Revd Smitha Prasadam, Bishop of Huddersfield and the Rt Revd Anna Eltringham, Bishop of Ripon.
Thirty-five young people attended from the four youth groups in the Mission Community (Horwich and Rivington, Westhoughton, Deane and Lostock and Over Hulton).
The Diocese of Manchester is planting a new church in the centre of the city to work particularly with students and young people.
Graham Lord, Captain of the Bells and his team of bellringers at St Paul’s, Ramsbottom will Ring for the King from 10am to 10.30am on Saturday morning.
