This year’s Christmas theme from the Church of England – Follow the Star: Join the Song – highlights how singing can help us draw closer to God and each other through the journey from Advent to Epiphany.
St Anne’s Royton wanted to make the most of the incredible opportunity of hosting the Welsh artist, Jez Thomas’ touring Art Exhibition, The Human One and worked hard to encourage as many people to visit as possible.
Last Saturday’s meeting of Diocesan Synod took time to consider our route to Net Zero, our Racial Justice strategy, progress with our Transforming Prayer Community and the Annual Report of the Diocesan Board for Education.
The first focal leaders in Manchester Diocese were commissioned last Sunday afternoon at St Mary’s Rawtenstall. They will carry out their roles in the mission communities of Radcliffe and Whitefield and Rossendale in the Bury and Rossendale Deanery.
One of the diocese’s longest-serving Readers, Frank has been leading services for no less than 54 years and estimates the number he has taken to be around 500.
This Prisons Week, four prison chaplains are sharing their experiences of life in some of Manchester’s institutions.

Prisons Week is taking place from 8th-14th October. It is a time of reflection and prayer for all those affected by prisons; whether that be prisoners, family members, victims, communities, criminal justice system workers, or the countless people who care for those both inside and outside of prison walls.
